School Council

The Ararat West Primary School Council brings together parents, staff and community members who are committed to improving outcomes for students and fostering an aspiring and connected school community.

The School Council plays an important governance role in shaping the strategic direction of the school and ensuring decisions are made in the best interests of students. Working closely with the Principal and school leadership team, Council provides oversight of key policies, school finances and long-term planning to ensure resources are managed responsibly and aligned with the school's priorities.

Council also serves as an important link between the school and the wider community, bringing community perspectives into decision-making and fostering respectful partnerships between families, staff and local stakeholders.

Through effective governance, strategic oversight and thoughtful decision-making, the School Council supports continuous improvement, accountability and the responsible stewardship of school resources. These efforts help create the conditions for strong student learning outcomes and a thriving school community.

Together, the School Council and school leadership are committed to building a respectful, inclusive and aspiring school community. This includes exploring opportunities that enhance educational, environmental and community outcomes for current and future generations.
